Recently, Contrado’s CEO Chris Childs was in conversation with the Founder & CEO of Make it British, Kate Hills. While offering Kate a tour of the factory, Chris talked about what goes into running a print-on-demand company, the range of products on offer, all made in Britain, and the importance of technology in making manufacturing scalable and fast.

Contrado Imaging was set up by Chris, alongside his wife Fran Rodriguez in 2002. From starting from their dining room table, Contrado has now grown into a behemoth, serving customers worldwide.
Contrado means to assemble and deliver. We have a one-stop production facility, with state-of-the-art equipments, for producing printed fabrics, garments and homeware. We specialise in making quality, custom products on demand, offer a platform to creatives to sell their art on our products, and build brands.
Each order is carefully handmade inside our facility in north-west London, often within 24 hours. Contrado’s USP is that everything is made to order, which means we don’t hold on to dead stock, thereby contributing in our own small way towards a more sustainable way of life. We don’t outsource any of our production as we believe in preserving seemingly dying skills such as sewing, and increasing local employment opportunities.
With all products made in Britain, and a short turnaround Contrado aims to continue fulfilling the printing requirements of individuals and businesses, while staying abreast of new technologies.
Check out our fabric and product ranges here, or shop directly from our Artist Collections. We would be happy to fulfil any of your printing needs.
