How Your Bespoke Footstool is Made

Handmade to order by our carpentry and upholstery experts, your bespoke footstool is a fine example of genuine craftsmanship. The responsibly sourced wood is used to make the frame and tapered legs, providing a robust build that comes as part of the 10-year guarantee. The sumptuous padding, made from open-cell foam, poly wadding and cotton batting, is covered with our fire rated ChiChi Furnishing Velour fabric, that's soft and smooth with a slightly brushed surface. Your designs are printed onto this velour material using a specialist dye sublimation process that fuses the ink deep into the fibres. This creates a long-lasting print that won't crack, peel away or rub off.

Design Tips

We wrap the fabric around the gusset, so the corners are cut out to make the stitching flawless. You'll notice in the design interface that the printable area is a cross shape, so ensure important design features aren't placed outside this area as they won't be visible on your footstool. 

You also have an option to customise the underneath of the footrest. If you're an artist, this is an ideal place to put your details and reselling information, or you could even print your design again for total coverage all over.

What fabric is used for the cushioning?

We use a fire retardant furnishing velour fabric. Its soft, slightly brushed face feels gorgeous under the feet, and these bonus qualities make it a safe textile to be used in domestic settings.

What areas of the footrest can I customise?

As standard, you can customise the entire area of the cushioning, however there's also an option to design the underneath, which is ideal if you need to print artist or reselling information.
